more smokin' scenes

... so then, only days after the major fire at North Center Street and School Street here in Bradford, PA, where a carved-wood facade spectacularly caught fire beneath a roof  --  a carved wood facade of the type also seen framing the toppart of certain in-home fireplaces  --  a backyard just across N. Center Street from the demolished house showed a pile of large sticks generating continuous poufs of smoke skyward, as if signaling with both sight and smell.

Yesterday, a backyard just houses away from this Pleasant Street address, between North Bennett Street and North Center Street, also showed a significant amount of smoke rising from back of premises, with a distinct smoky odor wafting throughout the neighborhood.

Flashback to childhood, burning a small pile of leaves with a magnifying glass in strong sunlight, to generate a smoke signal in this same neighborhood with jar of water very nearby  --  who would go to witness the artifact oracle-bead chronicle discovered in Degolia, PA?  The magazine titled The Skeptical Inquirer was initiated instead.
